Watch Dogs Review

An entertaining, open world action game with an interesting and original mechanical world, which becomes a remarkable first episode of a franchise that holds great future.

And coming to the subject of graphics, nor is the disaster that has been talking for several weeks, no wonder that we first saw at E3 2012. The new generation of consoles and PC today can give much more of himself, but that does not make it a visually bad game, far from it. For starters, it has seemed the best recreation of a real city that we have seen in any game , is totally convincing, every street, alley, buildings, parks, has become a formidable job, it’s a city with life, you you think, recreated with great detail. Eye do not talk about visual impact, obviously the Seattle infamous second son is much prettier, but of Watch Dogs is more convincing as a really lively city, with hundreds of people in their daily lives.

The lighting could be better-that’s what tarnishes the outcome, especially day-and some of the textures could have more detail, but the design of Chicago is excellent. We also really like character animations, and certain times, such as the effect of soil wet puddles, but then there are upgradable details, including physical, very ugly eg by running over pedestrians.Technically the new consoles moves in both 900p and 30fps resolution at 792p PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and some of the graphics defects we see in the beta a month ago, luckily have been corrected in this final version. We have analyzed the PS4 version-not have seen or tested the versions of PS3 and X360-, and the frame rate remains fairly stable at all times, with a drop point that is not too upset, and very clean image quality and clear, with no trace of some of the most feared defects graphics -load late the previous generation of textures, tearing , and so on.

The sound for its part has seemed outstanding , with a great dubbing into Castilian, the best I’ve heard in a game of Ubisoft, and one of the most deserving, considering the huge amount of dialogue and sound files. Goes to show, in case anyone still doubted that a Grand Theft Auto could be folded perfectly, and that helps to make the experience more bearable, and do not mind you have conversations while driving, among other things, find out about comments of all pedestrians. As one flaw in this paragraph, the sound of guns that could be stronger. The soundtrack is also up to par, so the degree that you can listen anytime on mobile walking or driving Curtis Mayfield, Kid Cudi, Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Alice Cooper, Weezer, Vampire Weekend, Smashing Pumpkins, and so on, as composed for the game during missions, and very vibrant personality, which ends up creating a very good sound section.

Donwgrades aside, a great game

The truth is that we have pleasantly surprised Watch Dogs . Either because in recent weeks there has been talk more graphics than anything else, or because our contact than a month left us a little confused, we must admit that we started with some skepticism, but based on a huge many good arguments has totally convinced us. An entertaining open world game from start to finish, with a huge variety of content, with good stealth sections, funny shootings, wild chases and pervasive hacking always perfectly implemented, which adds a touch of distinction and originality that differentiates other games and makes it unique.

If you like the genre and the theme motivates you, I am sure you will not disappoint. And although it might have come a little further improve certain aspects, leaving the slight feeling of “safe sequel will be much better” as the first chapter of a new series, with great potential for the future, we felt a round game above all, very enjoyable.

Good

  • Gameplay is strongly designed
  • Variety of content, side quests and collectibles are justifying the price tag
  • Beautiful soundtrack

Bad

  • Graphics are downgraded comparing what was shown at E3
  • At the beginning there are lots of information to learn and to filter
7.5

Good

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
