With over 12 million copies sold since its October 30, 2025 launch, ARC Raiders has quickly become one of the biggest extraction shooters on the market. But success hasn’t made Embark Studios complacent. In a new interview with GamesRadar, production director Caio Braga addressed two of the most common player complaints: weapon and ARC balance, and the lack of meaningful endgame challenges for veteran raiders.
Braga openly acknowledged that balancing the hybrid PvPvE nature of ARC Raiders is tricky. PvP-focused players often want tighter weapon tuning and less dominant ARCs, while co-op fans ask for stronger threats that force real teamwork. “We’re very aware of this,” he said. “Managing a live-service game with this many players means we’re constantly learning what changes matter most.”
One of the clearest priorities moving forward is giving high-level players something fresh to chase. “We want to challenge players, especially those who are reaching the end of our content,” Braga explained. “We want more for them.”
While he stopped short of revealing specific solutions, the message is clear: Embark wants to expand the endgame without alienating newer or more casual players. The studio is exploring additional high-risk operations, deeper progression systems, and new threats that scale with player skill.
The conversation comes as ARC Raiders receives its latest major content drop — the Flashpoint update — which adds:
These changes are designed to refresh the experience while the team works on longer-term balance and endgame solutions.
ARC Raiders has proven that a premium extraction shooter can thrive outside the Tarkov niche, thanks to its accessible third-person gameplay, strong visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, and satisfying risk-reward loop. But like every live-service title, it’s a constant balancing act.
Embark’s willingness to openly discuss player feedback is a good sign. Whether they can deliver the right mix of balance tweaks and meaningful veteran content will likely determine how long ARC Raiders stays at the top of the extraction genre.
