Xbox Game Pass August Wave 2 puts Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one, August 27. Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC. I opened Xbox’s August 18 post. That is the official list, not a wishlist screenshot.
The game still launches that same day on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Xbox Play Anywhere is on. Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment are on the box. I am not printing a USD sticker for Resonance because the official Focus post does not list one.
Sophia, Leni, and a Venice Job That Goes Wrong
Focus dropped a new story trailer on August 12, eight days before this wave. Sophia and her companion Leni flee a Venice heist that falls apart, then head for Minotaur Island. The pitch is the early years of Sophia and the origins of the Macula, the curse that already ate two Plague Tale games. Light as a tool. A restless thing in the dark that already knows your route. Chain sword, dagger, parry, kick. That is the official language, not a recap I dressed up.
You can play it at gamescom at both the Focus booth and the Xbox booth. If Cologne is not in the budget, August 27 on Ultimate is the living room version of that demo line. Handheld-optimized is on the Wave 2 tag, which is Xbox saying the Series handheld pass is not an afterthought this time.
The Rest of Wave 2, Without the Entire Menu
Resonance is the headliner. It is not the only day-one. Vapor World: Over the Mind hits Ultimate and PC Game Pass on August 19 as a Game Preview, a souls-like platformer about deflection and a shattered mind. Blood Dungeon, from the Nidhogg people, lands August 25 as 2D parkour survival. I am naming those two because they are also day-one. I am not pasting the full cafeteria tray.
Also joining Ultimate and PC Game Pass this wave, several after sitting on Game Pass Premium first: Egging On (already up August 18), BlazBlue Entropy Effect X and Relooted on August 19, Starsand Island on August 20, Aerial_Knight’s DropShot on August 25, Young Suns on August 31, Shelldiver on September 1. Wolfenstein 3D already slipped in on August 12 if you missed that line.
Witcher 3 Remastered Walks August 31
Catalog waves always have an exit door. Leaving August 31: Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost, and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Remastered Edition on Cloud and Console. NBA 2K26 leaves September 6. If you have been meaning to finish the Remastered pass, you have until the 31st. That is the part of Wave 2 people skip in the headline and then complain about two weeks later.
