Ubisoft named the next Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 expansion at a gamescom community panel. The title is Echoes of Central Park. Central Park has sat on that map since the first game and still treated like a hole in the paper. The full reveal is September 24 at 9:00am PT (6:00pm CEST).
That is the whole announcement. No launch day. No USD. I am not inventing either. The official Ubisoft page and the press note agree on the name, the park, and the darker tone. Everything else waits for September 24.
A Distress Call From Inside the Park
New York is Division country. Central Park is the landmark they have not actually let you walk. Official copy says the park was a mass burial ground during the outbreak, and years later nobody on the team will tell you what is still in there. The expansion starts with a distress call from inside the gates. Across the Upper West Side, the neighborhood is petrified. Agents do not know what happened in the park since the outbreak. You investigate the rumors, get ready, and then you go in.
That is a different brief from another downtown story mission with a new faction logo. The park is the one green rectangle the series has been circling for years.
Fear as the Enemy, Still Clancy
Ubisoft wants this one rooted in mystery and fear. The enemy they are willing to name is Fear, the thing that spreads when you cannot always see what you are shooting. Official copy still says it has to remain Clancy. Horror tone, Division rules. The press note also says this is not meant to be just another story DLC. The team wants a stronger gameplay focus, not just another story drop with a new map pin.
Creative Director Yannick Banchereau and Game Director Alex Birzanu walked the panel. I am not adding a price tier they did not print, and I am not dating a launch they did not date.
September 24 Is the Full Reveal
The Echoes of Central Park Showcase is September 24 at 9:00am PT (6:00pm CEST). That is the next official look. Before then, Year 8 Season 3: Red Horizon still lands August 27 in Washington, D.C., which is a different story and a different city. Official social is @Ubisoft.
