In a recent interview with Bandai Namco, producer Jun Furutani detailed one of the game’s most highly anticipated features—its custom event mode, which offers players extensive freedom to create epic battles and scenes. This 3D fighting game allows fans to recreate iconic moments or imagine new ones with fully customizable events that add a fresh layer of creativity to the experience.
Total Freedom in Battle Creation
Players can design their own Dragon Ball battles using various tools in the custom event mode. This mode goes beyond choosing characters and arenas; it enables users to configure nearly every battle aspect, from player positions and camera angles to facial expressions and poses. According to Furutani, “You can edit a lot of things like the player’s position, camera movements, pose, or facial expression.” With these tools, fans can craft battles exactly how they imagine, adding to the game’s depth and replayability.
The level of customization also extends to dialogue and subtitles, which allows players to script their scenes and set the stage for their dream battles. With more than 5,000 preselected lines of text available, players can add context and backstory to their fights, transforming them into mini Dragon Ball episodes. Also, names and other elements can be modified to suit individual preferences, giving players more control over their creations.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero also includes a community-focused feature that allows players to share their custom battles with others or download creations made by fellow players.
