Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is out on Nintendo Switch 2 as of August 28, 2026, for $79.99 on Nintendo’s US store. FromSoftware built it and Bandai Namco is selling it, which is the usual arrangement, except this is the first time the Lands Between sit on a Nintendo platform. The download bundles the original Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree, docked or handheld, and Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s Starter Guide is the video below.
Bandai Namco is treating Tarnished Edition as the full game on a new platform, not a handheld cut. The launch post names two new starting classes, the Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight, plus four new armor sets that include those two class sets. For the first time you can customize Torrent, with three appearance options. If you already know Limgrave by heart, those extras and Shadow of the Erdtree are why this version exists.
The new classes, armor, and Torrent options are not locked to Switch 2. That content is also for sale the same day as the Tarnished Pack on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Switch 2 edition is the $79.99 tile. We already ran the countdown piece when August 28 was still a date on a calendar, and this one is the launch.
