Square Enix put a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation on the official FINAL FANTASY YouTube during gamescom Opening Night Live. The third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Series still launches Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC. Wishlist it now. The title is not yet rated.
The upload is called The Planet’s Crisis, and it is not a mood reel. Enormous guardians called Weapons rise to defend a world already in trouble. They make no distinction between friend and foe. Cloud and the party fight them on desert sands, in mid-air dogfights, and at the bottom of the sea, while they are still trying to stop Sephiroth. If you treated the original late-game Weapons as optional homework after the credits, Square Enix just dragged that homework into the middle of the road.
Square Enix’s own press says those original late-game Weapons return as standout battles, some of them as ultra-challenging endgame fights that homage their first forms. The same trailer shows the new summon Typhon, plus open-world movement by parachute, grappling hook, and Chocobo. Cloud and Tifa appear in Warrior and Black Mage FITS. FITS is new in Revelation: outfits that grant new abilities and specialized roles that evoke classic Final Fantasy jobs. I am using their wording, not a costume menu I painted on.
The official pitch is still the planet-sized one. The party takes the Highwind into a freely explorable world, drops in by parachute, and splits up because Meteor is coming down and the Weapons are already tearing through cities. Combat still switches between real-time action and Tactical Mode. Official Steam lists Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine as newly playable. Save data from Remake Intergrade unlocks Chocobo & Moogle summon materia. Rebirth unlocks Phoenix.
Spring 2027 is the whole date. No month. No USD on the official press page or the Steam wishlist tile, so I am not inventing one. Official social is @finalfantasyvii and the official FINAL FANTASY YouTube. The trailer is above. Opening Night Live was Tuesday at 11:00am PT (2:00pm ET). Spring is still the season on the box.
The Weapons are no longer a rumor you argue about after midnight. They are on the official channel, they do not care which side you picked, and the last game in the Remake Series now has a trailer that treats them like the planet’s own problem instead of a side bet. Keep the official Revelation page open if you want the season in Square Enix type.
