Gamescom Opening Night Live is Tuesday, August 25. The main show starts at 11:00am PT (2:00pm ET). A 30-minute pre-show starts at 10:30am PT, which is the one you actually set if you want the warm-up instead of dropping into the first trailer cold.

Geoff Keighley is hosting. Eefje “sjokz” Depoortere is co-hosting. They open the Cologne week from Koelnmesse, then the exhibition runs August 26 through August 30. That floor is sold out. gamescom says the available exhibition area is completely booked for the first time, after the halls already grew last year, so this is not a quiet Tuesday in an empty hall.

Watch it on the official gamescom YouTube and Twitch, and on the official Opening Night Live stream at The Game Awards YouTube. The gamescom site carries the same show. In-hall ONL tickets are already gone. The livestream is the version that works whether you are in Hall 1 or on a couch in Seattle.

gamescom is treating Tuesday night in Cologne as the public open. August 26 is the trade and media day. The rest of the week is the usual mix of halls, stages, and people filming the line in front of them. Official copy promises world premieres, exclusive announcements, trailer and gameplay reveals, and a first look at what is actually on the floor. That is the job of the show. The floor does the hands-on later.

The official Opening Night Live page puts the pre-show at 10:30am PT and the main show at 11:00am PT, matching the scheduled official livestream title. Hall 1 is the in-person room, with admission through Confex, if you already have a ticket that no longer exists for anyone else. Everybody else uses YouTube, Twitch, or the gamescom site and skips the stamp line.

What Is Already on the Board

The official gamescom slate already includes news on METRO 2039 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, both aimed at 2027. CD PROJEKT RED is using Opening Night Live for the first look at that Witcher expansion, then running guided presentations in Cologne through the week. Those are the names on the first-party page. Everything else can wait until it is actually said on stage.
