Xbox and The Coalition put a new Gears of War: E-Day story trailer on the official Xbox YouTube during gamescom Opening Night Live. This is the campaign look. Not another Horde Siege weekend. Fourteen years before the original Gears of War, Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago are home in Kalona when the Locust Horde comes up through the floor. Launch is still October 6, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, and Steam. Day one on Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox.com prints October 6. That is the date I am using.

Kalona, Three Days, Bravo Squad

Xbox already laid the campaign out in June. One city. Three days. You never leave Bravo Squad. Marcus and Dom are back from the Pendulum Wars, standing at an armistice memorial, when the road opens. John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro are still those voices. The rest of Bravo is Mags Carter and Lucas Reyes. The Coalition rebuilt the whole thing in Unreal Engine 5 from an empty hard drive. Cover still matters. You can slide, jump, and climb now.

Campaign is solo, two-player split-screen on console, or four players online. Horde Siege is the 12-player PvE mode. Versus is the refined 4v4. Those are launch rooms. This trailer is the night the ground opens. The Coalition has been selling a darker first contact: Feral Wretches first, then Drones, then the realization that they shoot, they make weapons, and they talk. I am not inventing a new Locust general. Xbox has not named one on the official page.

October 6, Then the Hall 7 Queue

If you are in Cologne, Hall 7 is where the campaign goes playable for the first time. Xbox already put that on the July 28 gamescom note: first public hands-on with the origin of the Locust War and the start of Marcus and Dom’s brotherhood, ahead of October 6. Opening Night Live was the living-room cut. The booth is the one that has to survive a public queue.

Play Anywhere is on, so the Xbox copy is the PC copy if you bought it that way. Steam is the other door. I am not inventing a Standard sticker. Xbox.com does not print a dollar amount on the game page, so I will not invent one. Game Pass Ultimate is the day-one path if you already pay for that. The open beta already closed. That is a different story. Today’s upload is the campaign trailer on the official Xbox channel. October 6 is still the date. Kalona is still the city. The ground still opens first.
