Gravhounds is the first game from Octopus Panic, a seven-person studio, and Xbox put the official page up today, August 27, 2026. Josh Holmes, co-founder, is the byline. Game Preview is November 2, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. Day-one Xbox Game Pass. That is the date package. I am not printing a retail sticker because that Wire page does not have one.
The team, as Holmes named it, worked on Halo, Battlefield, and Star Wars, plus Full Spectrum Warrior, Def Jam: Fight for NY, and The Saboteur. Those are the franchises and games on the page. I am not adding studio letterhead they did not type. They started Octopus Panic to get small again. The dogs came early.
One to Four, Plus COSMO
You are a bio-engineered dog built for dangerous industrial work, stranded with a crew on the far side of the galaxy. Getting home means salvage, questionable infrastructure, and things higher on the food chain than you are. The shipboard AI supervisor is COSMO. Jobs still need doing. 1 to 4 player co-op. Intense alone, chaotic with a crew, in Xbox’s own tile language.
The loop is take a job, drop onto a hostile planet, build an operation, get what you came for, and try to leave with everyone still alive. Holmes says that sounds organized and usually is not. Stay longer and push harder and the planet gets worse. That is the official pitch, not a recap I dressed up.
Grav Beam, Pipelines, Reward Pods
The Grav Beam is the industrial tool every Gravhound uses to grab resources, haul equipment, place Build Kits, and throw whatever is nearby, including a health pickup at a teammate or a creature that needs to be somewhere else. Pipelines carry power and give you places to deploy. The industrial propulsion rig lets you boost, jump, hover, and grind the pipe with unlimited boost. Reward Pods drop randomized weapons and upgrades mid-shift. Stack them. The swarm stacks too.
Hall 7, Then November 2
