This is not another Gunpla sandbox and it is not a remake of a series you already own on Blu-ray. Bandai Namco Studios is building a brand-new timeline in the Gundam saga. Humanity is fighting an unknown threat. The official line is a cinematic, high-mobility action game, sold as an entry point for people who have never assembled an RG and as a new chapter for people who have too many. That is a harder promise than another timeline acronym, which is why the trailer had to do real work.
RE-X, Gundam Helix, Third-Person Speed
You play as ace pilot RE-X. The suit is Gundam Helix, called out as a high-mobility machine. The official post puts RE-X and a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers in front of enemy hordes, massive bosses, and fights that are supposed to feel fast. The US game page leans on melee: hard-hitting, skill-first, push the Gundam until it complains. High-mobility third-person action is the shape. I am not adding a lock-on essay Bandai did not write.

2027 is the whole date on both official pages. Wishlist tiles are up on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and the Bandai Namco Store. Bandai Namco says more details come in the months ahead, which is corporate for “we used the Fest to plant the flag and we will water it later.” Keep the official US game page and gundamrogueorbit.com open if you want the year in first-party type.
A new Gundam timeline is either a reset that finally lets a game studio breathe, or another continuity binder for the shelf. Helix on a new clock, RE-X in the cockpit, 2027 on the box. That is the announcement. The day is still blank. I am fine with that until they print one.
