IllFonic and PlayStation just put a date on Halloween: The Game. Tuesday, September 8, 2026. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic. I watched the official PlayStation YouTube gameplay drop from today’s State of Play, then opened the PlayStation Blog post IllFonic’s Miles Dompier signed. Same Tuesday. Same four storefronts.
This is the first public look at how the sandbox actually moves. Not another mood reel. Gameplay. Shape Jump is named in that official PlayStation post, and it is the line I keep circling. Myers does that thing from the movie where he is gone, then he is in the doorway, and IllFonic is making that a tool.
Official PlayStation copy: as Michael you find, stalk, and kill Haddonfield before the night ends. Townsfolk NPCs keep doing household things until you ruin their evening. Heroes warn neighbors, talk them into calling the police, and scavenge weapons. You can knock Myers down. You cannot kill him. Enough police presence can detain him. That is the loop they were willing to put on PlayStation.Blog, and it is why this still reads like a living suburb instead of a closed arena with a knife taped to it.
The package is still a standalone single-player story plus asymmetrical multiplayer. IllFonic developed it and publishes it. Gun Interactive co-publishes. Compass International Pictures and Further Front are the partners. Unreal Engine 5. Jared Gerritzen, IllFonic’s chief creative officer, said the goal is “to push the horror experience to the next level with single and multiplayer modes so players can get the most out of the game.” Whether you “become the boogeyman or fight to protect Michael Myers’ victims,” the official line is “an unforgettable battle of fear and survival.”
I am not writing a dollar amount State of Play did not put on that blog. The date is the news. Official social is @HalloweenTVG and @PlayStation. The embed above is PlayStation’s own upload. September 8, 2026 is on the blog, the official Games Press note, and the store pages I checked after the show. Keep PlayStation.Blog and halloweengame.com open if you want that Tuesday in their type. Haddonfield has a calendar now. The Shape Jump is the part that will either feel like the movie or like a teleport with extra steps, and they were brave enough to name it in public.
