IllFonic put Halloween: The Game on Future Games Show Live from gamescom today, and the announce trailer is already on the studio’s own YouTube. I watched that upload, then opened halloweengame.com and the official August 20, 2025 Games Press note. Same pitch. One-versus-many stealth. You play Michael Myers or a Civilian. Story mode, bots, and online are all on the paper. The window is 2026. That is the only date they printed.
This is the first time Compass International Pictures and Further Front have handed IllFonic the 1978 night as a full game, with IllFonic Publishing on the box and Gun Interactive as co-publisher. Unreal Engine 5. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. I am not writing a Tuesday they have not locked.
Official copy is a one-versus-many stealth horror game built around John Carpenter’s film. Put on the mask and stalk Haddonfield, or play a Civilian trying to warn the town and find a phone before Myers cuts the line. You can do that in a standalone story, against bots offline, or in online multiplayer. Each mode is supposed to reward stealth, strategy, and patience, which is the part of that movie most licensed games skip so they can sell a louder chase.
IllFonic says it is rebuilding Haddonfield across multiple maps, with a score inspired by the original. I am not inventing a chapter count or a skin list they did not print today. Charles Brungardt, IllFonic’s CEO and co-founder, said working with Compass and Further Front “has been a dream,” and that their notes kept the team “true to the soul of the 1978 film.” Their “tremendous passion for Michael Myers,” he added, pushed the studio “to craft something that fans of the franchise will truly appreciate.” Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, said they are “very excited to have partnered up with the great team at IllFonic to finally bring the definitive digital version of Halloween and Michael Myers to video game fans everywhere.”
The Steam US listing is live. I opened it after the show. Wishlist, platforms, the same 1978 night. No dollar amount on that page today that I am going to invent, and no September date either. Official social is @HalloweenTVG. @PlayStation and @Xbox are the store accounts if you want their posts. The trailer above is IllFonic’s, not a recap channel. Keep halloweengame.com and the Steam US page open if you want the platforms in their type. The Shape is coming home. They just have not told us which Tuesday yet.
