Ubisoft posted Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake today. The official news page dates it 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Wishlist tiles are on the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Ubisoft+ is listed for launch. No month. No day. No USD. Those blanks stay blank here.
The official line is the 1999 mix, brought up to modern standards: turn-based strategy, RPG hero progression, and tactical grid combat. Quality-of-life work and new planning and decision-making tools sit on top of that, with the promise it stays faithful to the original. If you lived in this map in the late 90s, that sentence is the whole argument.
Snowdrop, 4K, a Free Camera
This is a ground-up rebuild in Snowdrop. The fixed 2D isometric view is gone. Official copy puts you in a detailed 3D world with free camera control, 4K visuals, dynamic lighting, real-time weather, and shifting seasons across Erathia’s biomes and battlefields.
Queen Catherine calls you into a crusade after her father’s assassination and an invasion. The remake includes the original continent plus both expansions, Armageddon’s Blade and The Shadow of Death. All original campaigns and the nine factions are on the page: Dungeon, Fortress, Stronghold, Necropolis, Inferno, Castle, Tower, Rampart, and Conflux. The story is now one continuous run, with a new prologue campaign for players who never lived in this map, plus new fully produced cinematics.
You can take the adventure solo, or with up to eight players in a revamped online mode. Official news adds improved matchmaking, a simultaneous turn system, and the return of Hot Seat.
Maps, Audio, 2027
Official news says the remake keeps compatibility with the thousands of community maps and campaigns from the last 25 years, from day one. Updated editor tools and a new in-game UGC hub are how you find, download, and share that library. That is a bigger promise than a prettier Castle town if you have a folder of old maps you still want to host.
Audio is a modern system: voice acting, layered tracks, ambient effects, and new sonic cues on combat, spellcasting, and morale. As of today, the original Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete Edition is on Steam, the first time that complete pack has been on that store.
