Kingdom Hearts IV finally put new footage on a stage, and Square Enix still did not attach a date. The trailer landed in the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct. I checked Nintendo’s official recap and Square Enix’s own press note from that day. Platforms, yes. A calendar day, no. A US dollar price, also no.
I am not going to hang a holiday on this because the silence is the story. When a company has a month, it prints the month. This one printed Quadratum and a platform list.
Square Enix’s June 9 release is the line that matters for hardware. KINGDOM HEARTS IV will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Nintendo’s US post says the same game “will be available at launch on Nintendo Switch 2,” which is their way of saying this is a day-one Nintendo SKU, not a cloud streamer arriving later.
The official teaser is on the KINGDOM HEARTS YouTube channel, the one Square Enix pointed to in the press note. Square Enix’s North American channel posted the same June 2026 trailer. I am embedding the official series upload. Sora is in Quadratum. New figures cross his path. New powers wake up. That is the plot language both Nintendo and Square Enix used, and I am leaving it there instead of turning a teaser into a walkthrough.
The same Direct did date something Kingdom Hearts. KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8. Nintendo says the bundle includes HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. Players who already own the cloud versions on Switch can buy the Switch 2 versions at a discounted rate. Square Enix’s note puts that collection on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Microsoft Store on Windows, same October 8. That date is real. It is also not KINGDOM HEARTS IV.
Do not mix the catalog SKU with the sequel. October 8 is for the old games in a native bundle. IV is the new one, and on June 9 it did not get a day. Square Enix said more details would be revealed in the future. That is a holding line, not a window.
I checked Nintendo’s US copy and Square Enix’s June 9 note for a dollar figure on IV. There is not one. I am not converting a PlayStation listing or a wishlist tile into an MSRP. If you see a number attached to this sequel, ask whether Square Enix or Nintendo printed it. On June 9, they did not.
Watch @NintendoAmerica and @PlayStation for the North American accounts that will actually post a store window if one arrives. Nintendo’s Direct post and Square Enix’s June 9 note are the primaries. The official site is kingdomhearts.com. Platforms are signed. The date on IV is still a blank they left on the table.
