Maneater 2 is officially swimming toward PS5 later in 2027, Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios confirmed during today’s State of Play. The sequel leaves the original coastal sandbox behind for Neptune’s Kingdom, an invite-only ultra-luxury private island theme park where you play the bull shark that turns a preview event into a catastrophe with excellent production values.

Park CEO Victor Reardon brands the resort as an exclusive gateway to the grandeur of Ancient Rome, mixing Las Vegas excess with theme-park whimsy and very few ethical guardrails. Your shark begins unattended inside that machine, eating, exploring and evolving toward freedom while the park’s bioengineering experiment keeps inventing worse neighbors for everyone involved.

A theme park built to be ruined

Neptune’s Kingdom’s Marine Research division has altered tropical climate zones to support arctic, volcanic and other aquatic biomes that do not belong there. Low guardrails on genetic experimentation have also produced entertaining mutations, including reports of a crab the size of a G-Wagon. Those same systems become both threats and opportunities for a bull shark willing to do a little body hacking of her own.

Above the waterline, the park is packed with points of interest and an endless buffet of thought leaders, media figures and heavily armed security. Below it, the food chain has already been disrupted by submersible human threats and highly evolved apex predators that would prefer you never claim the top spot. Trip Westhaven returns for color commentary, again voiced by Chris Parnell, turning one-sided shark conversations into something uncomfortably close to a travel show gone wrong.

Unreal Engine 5 and a 2027 window

This is the first Maneater game built in Unreal Engine 5, with Tripwire highlighting more realistic light diffusion underwater, denser NPC behavior and art direction meant to make Neptune’s Kingdom feel finished before you start redecorating it in arterial spray. Exact features beyond the trailer and blog deep dive are still submerged, and the studio says more reveals will follow on the road to launch.

Maneater 2 is available to wishlist on PlayStation Store now. No precise date inside 2027 and no North American price have been announced. For fans of the 2020 ShaRkPG, the pitch is simple enough: a nastier sandbox, a louder park and a bull shark that treats exclusive guest lists as a menu.
