Capcom put a new Onimusha: Way of the Sword trailer on Opening Night Live today, then handed the demo a second quest and a Switch 2 tile the same morning. The Challenges That Await is already on the official Capcom USA YouTube. The demo lands today on Nintendo Switch 2 and the Microsoft Store. The same new content arrives today as an update on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

This is the first Onimusha in 20 years. Miyamoto Musashi walks Edo-period Kyoto with the Oni Gauntlet, Issen, and Soul Absorption still in the kit. Official store copy still calls the invaders Genma, pulled into the living world by the Malice over Kyoto. He absorbs their souls through the gauntlet and turns that power back on them. Capcom’s own page keeps the rest of the pitch tight. The full game is September 4 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.

Ifuu, Burai, Dokyo, Then a Fully Awakened Oni

The trailer is boss footage, not a mood reel. Capcom’s press note names Ifuu and Burai, a wind and thunder duo, then Miyamoto Musashi against Dokyo, then the first look at his fully awakened Oni form. I am using their names, not a bestiary I painted on.

The updated demo is how you get there before September 4. Starting today on all platforms, it adds a second quest in the Oni Refuge. Capcom calls that stage surreal. It is an early slice of the story, it introduces new mechanics, and it ends on the towering boss Daidara. If you already had the demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox, Steam, or Epic, today’s update is the same package Switch 2 and the Microsoft Store are getting for the first time.

$69.99 Standard, Early Adopter Bonuses Before September 24

Pre-orders are live. Capcom says anyone who locks Standard, Deluxe, or Premium Deluxe before September 24 gets Early Adopter Bonuses. Standard is physical and digital. Deluxe and Premium Deluxe are digital only. Deluxe adds cosmetics and charms for Musashi. Premium Deluxe adds more cosmetics for Musashi and his allies, plus the in-game soundtrack. Steam and the US Xbox tile both print $69.99 for Standard, $79.99 for Deluxe, and $89.99 for Premium Deluxe. I am not inventing a dollar the US pages do not show.
