Capcom pulled Onimusha: Way of the Sword forward from September 25 to September 4, 2026. That is three weeks, and it applies across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic, and the Microsoft Store. The studio’s line is that it wants the game in your hands sooner, which is the rare date change that does not come with an apology attached.

The demo is already on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Epic. Keep that save, because Capcom still grants the Kubi Akari charm from that file when the full game launches, now on September 4 instead of the later Friday. Pre-orders are live, and anyone who buys Standard, Deluxe, or Premium Deluxe before September 24 gets the Early Adopter Bonuses, the old pre-order extras under a new name because the game will already be out when September 25 arrives.

September 4, Same Three Editions

Steam’s US page prints $69.99 for Standard, $79.99 for Deluxe, and $89.99 for Premium Deluxe. Standard is physical and digital, Deluxe and Premium Deluxe stay digital only, and Deluxe adds cosmetics and charms for Musashi while Premium Deluxe adds more cosmetics for him, outfits for allies, and the in-game soundtrack. That package is the same stack Capcom named when pre-orders opened, only the Friday on the box has moved.

The Charm Still Pays Out on the New Friday

Kubi Akari is still the thank-you for a demo save. The date on the box moved, the temple you already walked did not, and if you have been sitting on a pre-order since State of Play you now have three fewer weeks of waiting and the same extras, provided you lock in before September 24.
