Orbitals lands exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 3, 2026. This morning’s Nintendo Direct put a date on Shapefarm’s first original project, Kepler Interactive is publishing, and pre-orders opened the same day. One console, two players, a Tokyo studio that has been waiting for the calendar to stop being a rumor.

You play Maki and Omura, explorers trying to save their crumbling station home after a supernatural cosmic storm traps it, which means the work sits beyond the Storm Wall. The co-op is asymmetric, in local split-screen or through GameShare locally and online, and the named tools are the Scrap Hook, Liquid Launcher, and Beam Cannon. Studio Massket is on the cinematic cutscenes. Voice acting ships in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish, LatAm Spanish, German, and Brazilian Portuguese.

The new trailer from this morning’s Direct is the one to watch if you have been waiting on a date instead of a mood board.

Deluxe Puts the Extras on the Main Menu

Standard is the base game only, while Deluxe adds a digital artbook and the original soundtrack, both accessed through the main menu, plus two exclusive character costumes, one for Maki and one for Omura, and two unique ship skins. Pre-orders opened today. The official site and the Nintendo US store page are the listings, and official social is @OrbitalsGame.
