Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio put the official launch trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on Gamescom Opening Night Live today, August 25, 2026. The game ships August 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are still live. Day one Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Play Anywhere is still on the Xbox tile.
The story trailer we already ran is the August 12 cut. This page is the launch trailer, two days out, not a rewrite of that one. Focus dated its own launch post August 25. The YouTube upload is theirs.
The trailer is set to a reinterpretation of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.” Official copy talks loss, betrayal, and destiny. Players uncover Sophia’s origins next to a parallel story in the Minoan era, with long-buried secrets on the island and a clearer look at the Macula. Coastal landscapes give way to forgotten labyrinths under the earth. Every discovery walks Sophia closer to the truth and closer to the darkness waiting for her. Combat is dynamic melee. Exploration and environmental puzzles sit next to a narrative-driven adventure. That is Focus talking, not a skill tree I painted on.
David Dedeine, co-founder and creative director at Asobo Studio, called the project a special journey for the team and a chance to look at the universe they created from a new angle. “From the writing and gameplay to the music and environments, Sophia’s journey resonates with our own: it hasn’t been without its challenges, but we put our whole hearts into it.” The launch trailer above is from Focus Entertainment’s own YouTube, which is the publisher on the box. I will actually embed that upload.
Xbox’s US store still prints $59.99 on the pre-order. Steam’s US page still prints $49.99. I am not writing a PlayStation dollar amount because the US listing does not show one. Pre-orders remain available on all platforms. If you are in Cologne, there is a playable demo at the Focus booth and the Xbox booth for the rest of the show. Official social is @Focus_entmt and @Xbox.
If you are not flying there, the stores are taking money and Game Pass is taking the day-one slot. Two days from a launch trailer to ship is either confidence or a master that already left the building. Keep the official Focus launch post open if you want the date in their type.
