Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio posted a new story trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. The official Focus post is dated August 12. The launch date on that page, and on the Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam listings I opened, is August 27, 2026. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are live. Day one Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Play Anywhere is on the Xbox tile.
This is the prequel. You play Sophia, with companion Leni, starting in Venice and walking toward Minotaur Island for the origins of the Macula. That curse already ran two games. This one wants the years before anyone treated it like a trilogy. I checked the US stores. The date is printed. I am not inventing a Friday they did not write.
The official copy is not coy. Sophia and her late father’s gang try the heist of a lifetime in Venice. It falls apart. She flees with Leni into a forgotten world built on the ruins of an ancient civilization on Minotaur Island. A terrible force lurks in the shadows and hunts her. Players get Sophia’s early years and the untold origins of the Macula. Steam, Focus, Xbox, and PlayStation all put that 15 years before Requiem. Light is still the tool. Chain sword strikes, dagger attacks, parries, and kicks. That is Focus talking, not a skill tree I painted on.
The story trailer above is from Focus Entertainment’s own YouTube, which is the publisher on the box. I will actually embed that upload.
Xbox’s US store prints $59.99 on the pre-order, Heritage Pack included. Steam’s US page prints $49.99. I am not writing a PlayStation dollar amount because the US listing I opened does not show one. Heritage Pack, on the Xbox and PlayStation pages, is the Minoan Sword, Alec’s Pendant, and a digital artbook. Official social is @Focus_entmt and @Xbox.
You can play it at Gamescom at the Focus booth and the Xbox booth. If you are not flying to Cologne, the stores are already taking money and Game Pass is taking the day-one slot. Two weeks from a story trailer to launch is either confidence or a master that already left the building. Keep the official Focus story-trailer page open if you want the date in their type.
