SILENT HILL series producer Motoi Okamoto opened KONAMI PRESS START at 8:00 AM PT (11:00 AM ET) with a reminder that Silent Hill: Townfall still launches September 24, then spent the segment on people rather than another walk through the fog. The game is a standalone story on the fictional Scottish island of St. Amelia, and Okamoto was plain about the audience: newcomers are welcome, and so are the ones who have already disappeared into that weather.
What the broadcast actually added sat in the messages. Writer and director Jon McKellan, working at Screen Burn, talked through how Simon, Richard, and Zoe landed in the booth, then Konami cut to Jovan Adepo, Terry O’Quinn, and Kezia Burrows. Konami also named the Japanese cast for Simon, Zoe, and Richard. That pairing is the Press Start news, and the September 24 date did not move.
McKellan’s casting, then the actors talking back
McKellan had been hunting Simon for months, looking for someone quiet and inward without turning the lead into a blank. He found Adepo in 3 Body Problem, paused the episode, and told his wife the search was over. Adepo said the first call went to his dad, because he is a Silent Hill fan and a gamer. O’Quinn was the dream lock for Richard: McKellan wrote the character in that voice, then used a Terry O’Quinn impression for an early teaser, which is either confidence or a dare. O’Quinn said the following was interesting, but the script was the reason he came aboard, cinematic enough that the yes came easy. Burrows had already led Screen Burn’s Observation, and Zoe was written for her from the start. She talked about McKellan knowing exactly what he wanted on some days and leaving her room to build Zoe on the others.
Adepo described working opposite O’Quinn in the booth as a tennis match, seeing the return instead of matching a playback, a line he borrowed from an old job with Denzel Washington. McKellan said Zoe is more important to Simon’s journey than a first play might suggest, which is the sort of hint this series likes to plant and then charge interest on. Okamoto closed by promising more updates before launch.

Townfall remains a first-person, self-contained Silent Hill from Screen Burn, published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive, set in Scotland in 1996. Simon still wakes with a medical wristband and a CRTV that talks through static. The standard edition is $49.99 on Steam. Silent Hill: Townfall is on Steam ahead of September 24.
