State of Play and State of Play Japan return Thursday, September 3, 2026. PlayStation Blog posted the double header today, August 31. Both shows start at 6:00am PT (9:00am ET) on YouTube and Twitch. English State of Play runs first. State of Play Japan follows immediately after. I opened the Blog. That is the schedule, not a leak board. Set an alarm if you are not already awake for Pacific mornings.

The first broadcast covers PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, then closes with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation from Square Enix. Square Enix already posted The Planet’s Crisis Trailer. That is the last public look before the show, and it is the video I am embedding. It is not a State of Play bumper. It is the closer they already put on the internet, and the Blog says the September 3 show will go longer on that world.

English First, Then Japan

State of Play airs in English with Japanese subtitles available. State of Play Japan is hosted again by Yuki Kaji, with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The Japan show is built for deeper dives on upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay and announcements. PlayStation did not print a runtime. I am not inventing one, and I am not inventing a rumored roster either. Show up at 6:00am PT and stay through the handoff if you want both halves.

Co-streams and the Music Caveat

PlayStation notes the broadcast may include copyrighted music outside Sony’s control. Co-streamers and anyone saving a VOD for recut work are advised to omit that music. That is a practical aside, not a legal footer. Watch the official streams if you want the clean archive without arguing with a mute button later.
