Preorders for the Xbox 25th anniversary collection start with email invites today. The public door opens Thursday, August 27 at 7:00am PT (10:00am ET) on the Xbox site and at participating retailers, while supplies last. The bundle is the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition plus the Special Edition controller. Launch is November 13, 2026. MSRP is $899.99. One collection per customer.
Jason Ronald, VP Next Generation, put those numbers on the official Wire this morning. Translucent OG Green is the color your living room already remembers, even if the original Xbox is in a closet now. Every Series X25 is individually numbered with a unique engraving. A full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved comes with the console.
OG Green, Numbered, Halo Included
This is a limited collection, not a new generation of hardware. The box is a Series X in the old green, with the tributes Xbox hid in the shell and an engraving that is yours alone. Halo: Campaign Evolved is the campaign remake of the game that taught a lot of people what this brand sounded like in 2001. You do not pay a second sticker for that download. It is in the collection.
$899.99 is the official US MSRP. Pricing varies by market, and Xbox tells you to check a local Microsoft Store or authorized retailer if you are not in that dollar. I am printing the USD they printed. I am not converting it.
Invites Today, Public Preorder Thursday
Dedicated fans get email invites beginning today, August 26. Everybody else waits for Thursday at 7:00am PT (10:00am ET). Xbox site. Participating retailers. While supplies last. One collection per customer is the cap, which is how you keep a numbered anniversary box from turning into a stacking contest.
If the invite did not land, Thursday morning is the open window. If Thursday sells through, that is the end of the sentence. Official social is @Xbox.
The Controller Also Sells Alone
The Xbox X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller is also sold separately. Preorders are open now in select markets. It launches October 20, ahead of the November 13 collection. Same translucent OG Green idea, built so you can put a piece of the anniversary on a setup that already has a console. Xbox did not print a US dollar amount for the pad on that page. I am not inventing one.
