The tactical shooter Delta Force, which has quickly become a PC hit, will expand its reach on August 19, 2025, when it launches for free on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Ahead of release, developer Team Jade has confirmed that the game will feature crossplay and cross-progression, ensuring a unified player base across platforms.

Crossplay Options

  • Full Crossplay: By default, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players (Steam, Epic Games) can play together.

  • Console-Only Option: For those wary of facing PC players—due to higher precision with mouse/keyboard or potential cheating—console players can limit matchmaking to console-only lobbies.

  • Mobile: Android and iOS users will remain in their own ecosystem, playing only against other mobile players.

While PC versions naturally support higher refresh rates, the console versions will target 60 FPS natively at launch. 120Hz modes are not planned initially.

Cross-Progression

Team Jade also confirmed that all platforms will share progression starting August 19. Players need only one account, which will carry over Operators, cosmetics, coins, weapons, accessories, and progression seamlessly across PC, console, and mobile.

Previously, this feature was limited to PC and mobile. With the console launch, the ecosystem finally unifies into a single progression path.

A Modern Reboot

Delta Force is a modern reboot of the 2003 classic, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, itself inspired by Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down film. This reboot, built on Unreal Engine 5, blends:

  • Cinematic single-player campaign with real-time destruction and military authenticity.

  • Multiplayer modes that emphasize tactical squad-based combat.

All of it is offered at no cost, making it one of the biggest free-to-play launches of the year.

👉 With Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also arriving this fall, Delta Force’s crossplay and cross-progression could be key to carving out a strong foothold in the crowded FPS landscape.
