Sony and Housemarque have released a new gameplay trailer for Saros, their upcoming PS5 exclusive third-person shooter from the creators of Returnal. The video focuses heavily on how the game takes full advantage of the console’s signature features, 3D audio, DualSense haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers , to heighten combat, exploration, and overall immersion.
These elements combine to create a tighter, more responsive experience that builds on Housemarque’s arcade roots while evolving the intense, roguelike-style gameplay seen in Returnal.
Set on the mutant planet Carcosa, shrouded in a perpetual eclipse, players take on the role of agent Arjun Devraj (voiced by Rahul Kohli). The game blends high-intensity combat against ever-changing enemies and bosses with strategic weapon and skill management. Each run alters the world, but resources and upgrades carry over, encouraging experimentation and permanent progression.
Between runs, players return to the Passage aboard the Echelon IV to analyze changes, interact with the crew, and deal with the psychological toll of the eclipse, which affects both the environment and the minds of those aboard, creating growing distrust and tension.
Saros launches April 20, 2026, exclusively on PS5.
