Ubisoft has dropped a series of detailed videos showcasing the revamped core mechanics in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the upcoming remake of the beloved 2013 pirate epic. Using the latest Anvil Engine technology developed for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the studio has rebuilt parkour, stealth, and combat from the ground up to deliver a smoother, more modern experience while staying true to Edward Kenway’s swashbuckling adventure.

Parkour Gets a Major Glow-Up

The videos highlight significant improvements to movement:

  • Leaps of Faith look more cinematic and satisfying than ever.
  • General parkour feels far more fluid, with refined landing animations, faster recovery from falls, and smoother transitions between actions.
  • Advanced parkour actions from the original Black Flag (and recently reintroduced in Shadows) return with enhanced responsiveness.
  • A brand-new manual jump system gives players greater control, allowing custom shortcuts and creative traversal across the Caribbean islands and naval environments.

Stealth Gets Social and Tactical

Stealth has been expanded with modern tools and options:

  • Eagle Vision observation mode lets you zoom in on Edward for better scouting, marking enemies, and spotting objectives or clues.
  • You can now manually crouch at any time to take better advantage of cover.
  • Social stealth returns in style: blend into crowds, sit on benches to disappear in plain sight, or throw money on the ground to create distractions and slow down pursuers.

Combat Feels Fresh and Varied

The combat system has been completely overhauled:

  • New animations, enemy behaviors, and weapon variety create more dynamic encounters.
  • Multiple enemy types force you to adapt your approach — from brute force to precise counter-attacks.
  • The videos show a clear evolution from the original while keeping the satisfying swordplay and pistol flair that made Black Flag so memorable.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to release on July 9, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The remake aims to bring the golden age of piracy to a new generation with updated visuals, refined gameplay, and all the naval exploration and treasure-hunting fun that made the original a fan favorite.
