Activision’s next big shooter prepares for its big Gamescom showcase, but a key detail has already leaked: its November launch date.
One of the stars of Gamescom 2025 will undoubtedly be Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Activision plans to showcase the long-awaited shooter during the event, but fans don’t have to wait until Cologne to mark a date on their calendars — according to reliable leaks, the game will launch on Friday, November 14, 2025.
This date, which fits perfectly with the franchise’s traditional fall release window, comes from Billbil Kun and Insider Gaming, two of the most trusted names in industry leaks.
The November 14 release would apply to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, but one notable omission remains: Nintendo Switch 2.
Does that mean Switch players will be left out? Not necessarily. Microsoft has already signed a 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to its platforms, so Black Ops 7 should eventually arrive on Switch 2. However, insiders suggest it might not make the console’s launch window and could release later than other versions — understandable, since it would be the first CoD port for Nintendo hardware since Call of Duty: Ghosts on Wii U in 2013.
Rumors around Black Ops 7 suggest it will include fan-favorite maps from Black Ops 2, as well as the return of Specialist mechanics, adding fuel to fan excitement. Gamescom should provide the first extended look at gameplay, multiplayer details, and perhaps even a campaign teaser.
For now, all eyes are on November 14 as the day Call of Duty returns to the spotlight — even if Switch 2 players might have to wait a little longer.
