Capcom crashed the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase (February 5, 2026) with a bang, not just confirming Resident Evil: Requiem‘s Switch 2 prowess but dropping exclusive gameplay footage of Pragmata, their enigmatic third-person sci-fi shooter, running silky on the hybrid. Better yet: a free console demo launches today, February 5 on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, following the PC version’s December 2025 debut. Six years after its cryptic PS5 reveal (June 2020), Pragmata resurfaces at TGA 2025 with an April 24, 2026 full release across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Download now and hack robots with android sidekick Diana while dodging lunar quakes, it’s the puzzle-shooter hybrid fans have waited for. Trailer here.
Pragmata flips shooter norms: Protagonist Hugh (gruff response team grunt) can’t scratch robot foes solo, his pint-sized android companion Diana must hack them via on-screen grid puzzles mid-combat. Solve while aiming/dodging: reset squares glitch hacks, enhancers amp enemy fury. Arsenal shines: slow-mo grenades freeze bots for solves, shotguns blast close-range, lunum-infused railguns pierce hulls. It’s Control-meets-The Last of Us Part II gunplay with Portal-esque brains, demo’s 20-30min slice (per IGN) teases lunar station traversal, quake escapes, and Diana’s cheeky quips.
Story? Near-future Earth taps lunum (tissue-replicating mineral) on a lunar base that ghosts comms. Hugh awakens post-quake beside childlike Diana in derelict halls, uncanny horrors, corporate intrigue, and sibling-bond survival ensue. RE Engine (SF6/Kunitsu-Gami proven on Switch 2) delivers ray-traced lunar glow and haptic quakes.
