ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition hits Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. I checked Nintendo’s own news post and the US store page. Both say August 28. The store lists it at $79.99. That is the number Nintendo of America put on the product, not a guess from a listing aggregator.
Nintendo’s August write-up is the “rise, Tarnished” recap. The store SKU is dated 2026-08-28. If you have been waiting to take the Lands Between on a train, that is the day the download stops being a wishlist.
Base Game, Shadow of the Erdtree, and a Few New Toys
This is not a trimmed handheld port with a sad asterisk. Nintendo’s store and Bandai Namco’s official pages put the original ELDEN RING and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in the same package. Bandai Namco America also lists two new starting classes, new character armor, and customization for Torrent, the spectral steed you will absolutely ride off a cliff on purpose. If you already know the base game by heart, the DLC and those extras are the reason this SKU exists.
FromSoftware and Bandai Namco first lined Tarnished Edition up for 2025. It is now a 2026 game with a calendar day on it. I am not hanging a preload clock on this. Nintendo did not print one I can verify on the store page, and I am not going to invent one so the preview sounds tighter.
The Extra Bits Are Coming to the Other Boxes Too
The Switch 2 disc-or-download question I will leave alone. Nintendo’s US store does not spell out a Game-Key Card in the listing I can confirm, so I will not write one in. Digital is $79.99. That is the figure I can stand on.
The new classes, armor, and Torrent options are not locked to Switch 2 forever. Bandai Namco says that new content will also be available to purchase for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. I do not have an official US dollar price for that pack on those platforms, so I am not making one up. If you already own Elden Ring on a bigger box and only want the extras, wait for that store page to show a number.
August 28 Is a Store Date, Not a Rumor

I have watched enough “it is finally coming to handheld” cycles to know the difference between a recut trailer and a SKU. Tarnished Edition is a SKU: $79.99, August 28, Switch 2, base game plus Shadow of the Erdtree plus the new kit. If you want the version Nintendo signed, start at the official store page and the Nintendo news post. Leave the handheld-port jokes in the comments. August 28 is when the port has to play like a FromSoftware game you can actually finish on the couch.
