TASTEE: Lethal Tactics Review

A turn-based strategy game in which both teams act realtime, forcing gamers to predict the movements of their enemy.

To provide a little work you can handle the enemy characters as if they were your own and ran simulations to see how far they can go, or what if you face one in a duel with a character of your team in a very specific condition. When you run the test turn and see with your own eyes if you were on the right track, or else you lose sight, or worse, end up losing some of your units. Also, even in the single player mode, there is no rewind option.

tastee03Planning capacity leaves little room for improvisation, and during the turn of a character, you can plan your route with all necessary nodes to define perfectly where you want your characters to move. And in each of those nodes, if you want to start to run, crouch, aim at any particular direction or to stand at the sight of an enemy. Learning to play with this capacity planning is the key to victory. Luckily the game comes with a very clear small tutorial, where you learn the first tricks when preparing and advances each turn.

tastee04The online mode is more aggressive on both sides, but requires some patience, because until the two sides have not finished scheduling parallel turns, you can not move to the next before seeing the result of the current turn. Lethal Tactics is one of those games you earn for its playability, but will not take the top spot for its visuals. The game suffers from very limited textures this annoys only if the camera gets too close to see the action, but most of the time you will see the whole stage at a safe distance to know what is happening.

tastee06Final Thoughts

Tastee: Lethal Tactics is a game to recommended to everyone who wants to enjoy a good strategy game with action, in which you need to master your forecasting abilities. Its single player mode is limited but the additional online mode is compensating, and especially with the asking price it’s a must buy.

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
