Among Us, VR is Innersloth’s new project to bring its popular multiplayer to virtual reality. It will be released soon on PS VR, Meta Quest 2, and SteamVR.

The independent studio Innersloth had its place in the gala of The Game Awards 2021 to present its new project: Among Us VR. As you can imagine from the name, it is an official version of the successful multiplayer virtual reality originally published in 2018 but did not become popular until last year. Instead of maintaining the aesthetics in two dimensions of the original, this game will bet on a first-person camera and three-dimensional scenes and characters.

The first teaser for Among Us VR

VR is not a new Among Us mode, but a separate project that will be published soon on PS4 and PC with confirmed compatibility, at least for now, with PS VR, Steam VR and Meta Quest 2 (the new name of Oculus Quest two). Innersloth has not given an estimated release date but has shown a brief teaser captured directly from the game itself, letting us get an idea of what we can expect from this adaptation. As you can see below these lines, some of the critical concepts of the original have been maintained, such as the tasks that we can now carry out with our own hands or the appearance of the crew.

According to the official Among Us VR account on Twitter, separate from the original game, this title will feature online games for between four and ten players. “This new 3D experience will place you and our suspicious spacebeans in the heart of Skeld, with all the core mechanics of teamwork and betrayal that you know and love,” explains the description on the studio’s official page, where we also read that this version will not be compatible with the original, but that they will be separate games, which means that someone who plays in Among Us will not be able to share a game with someone from among Us VR, and vice versa.
