The in-game cinematics of the video game will have interactive elements. It will allow the player to get involved in them by controlling the character, aspects of the action or the camera.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated video games of recent years. The CD Projekt RED project is intended to mark a milestone for the studio as well as in the role-playing genre, to revolutionize the first-person experience with a ruthless and dangerous futuristic world, where the Corporations and technology implants are the daily bread. The narrative will be incredibly deep, the developer explains how the so-called Scene System will work, a mechanic that will directly affect interactive kinematics.
As explained to GameSpot John Mamais, responsible for the delegation of CD Projekt RED in Krakow, the new system seeks to maintain a commitment to playability, the decision to use the first person and immersion and will not be a simple aesthetic addition. “In Cyberpunk 2077, for all the narrative and film aspects, we have developed something new called the Scene System, ” explains Mamais. “We could say that it is like our system of dialogue and kinematics that occurs within the context of the gameplay of the game,” he adds.
“For us, it is essential because one of the pillars of the development of the project has always been the idea of total immersion and this new scene system has to do with it,” continues the manager. “It’s not just about breaking the gameplay, putting the black bands and seeing a video sequence unfold, you’re really on the scene, you’re living it, and you can control the character or the camera, always with varying degrees of freedom, ” continues.
In Cyberpunk 2077 we will be an essential part of the cinematic sequences
“It’s completely immersive; it doesn’t get you out of the experience at all. So we’re doing that and other things,” he concluded. The level of production in Cyberpunk 2077 will also be showing us a vast city, Night City, in which nothing is what it seems.
Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on April 16, 2020, on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and GoG), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
