With just days to go before release, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have dropped the epic launch trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign, giving fans a cinematic and gameplay-packed preview of the dark cooperative adventure that awaits. The spin-off officially arrives this Friday, May 30, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
The trailer offers a stirring glimpse of the brutal journey through High Limbo, the haunted region where players must survive for three in-game days, grow stronger, and prepare for a climactic battle against the fearsome Night Lords. While the video features some CGI flourishes, most of what’s shown is in-game footage, emphasizing the moment-to-moment chaos of roguelike progression, boss fights, and team-based synergy.
Elden Ring: Nightreign puts a new twist on the iconic FromSoftware formula by emphasizing 3-player co-op multiplayer. Players choose from eight unique heroes, each with distinct abilities and roles. Teams must scavenge, level up, and defeat bosses in quick succession, as each “day” ends with a miniboss battle—and the final day culminates in a showdown with a Night Lord.
Although it supports solo play, the game is built around cooperative coordination, offering an addictive gameplay loop that’s fast-paced, punishing, and rewarding in true FromSoftware fashion.
In our early hands-on preview, we described Nightreign as:
“A primarily cooperative game that, so far, we’ve found to be incredibly fun and with an addictive gameplay loop in the best sense.”
With elements of roguelike progression, team-based tactics, and Elden Ring’s signature worldbuilding and atmosphere, Nightreign is set to deliver a fresh and fast-paced take on the formula that defined one of the most celebrated games of the decade.
The launch trailer is now live across Bandai Namco’s official channels, offering a final look at the challenges and terrors that await in High Limbo. Whether you’re fighting alongside friends or braving the night alone, Elden Ring: Nightreign promises a battle for survival like no other.
