Shaun Escayg, creative director of the game, addresses the conversations about the content that players will receive after the title debuts next September on PC and consoles.
Marvel’s Avengers has starred in the last few weeks the occasional headline, after the announcement of the arrival of Spider-Man as an exclusive character for the PS4 version of the game. The creative director of the game, Shaun Escayg, has been in charge of anticipating the possible arrival of the beloved X-Men along with new regions, after the debut of the game occurs.
When Shaun Escayg was asked directly from Wccftech about the arrival of mutants in Marvel’s Avengers, the director approached it this way: all characters are likely to be in the game as long as the developers convince Marvel that the character in question is a valuable asset to history. In other words, the arrival of all the characters will have to be duly justified.
“No character can be presented without a story,” Escayg began responding, applauding the more than 80-year history of Marvel comics. “That’s part of the Marvel rule, so we have to present the characters with their own arc in the story, understand what’s happening to them, potentially define which villain is creating the conflict … That’s how we start to dig deep, and then there’s kind of a major narrative load in whatever direction we choose, or wherever we feel like we can add a bigger story. ”
On the other hand, during an interview with PlayStation Magazine (via Gamingbolt ), Escayg presents the history of the game or campaign as “a starting point”. In this way, once we finish with the main narrative, the players immerse themselves in the War Zones, where we will meet the different factions of the game, such as the Inhumans. To overcome these missions we will have to advance through different scenarios, fulfilling different objectives.
Escayg explains the approach of the game in this way: “You are going to explore that thread that we will later add after the campaign,” he clarifies. “But that will be even after launch, as we will actually add more regions and heroes beyond all of that .” Precisely at the end of last month, we learned that Hawkeye would be one of the characters that will be available after the launch of the game, along with a new story and villain.
