Hazelight Studios, the acclaimed team behind A Way Out and It Takes Two, is set to launch its latest cooperative adventure, Split Fiction, on March 6. Directed by Josef Fares, the upcoming game once again embraces two-player co-op gameplay, combining action, platforming, and multi-genre mechanics in a visually stunning, split-screen adventure.
Split Fiction tells the story of Mio and Zoe, two rival authors trapped inside a simulation that fuses their fictional worlds of science fiction and fantasy. To escape, they must work together—despite their differences—to overcome obstacles, solve puzzles, and battle dragons, robots, and futuristic threats in a world where medieval castles blend with high-tech environments.
The latest gameplay trailer highlights the variety of cooperative scenarios in the game. Players will experience an ever-changing mix of mechanics, from surfing on a sandfish to snowboarding down a mountain, keeping the gameplay fresh and unpredictable.
True to Hazelight Studios’ philosophy, Split Fiction is designed exclusively for cooperative play. It supports both local and online co-op, and features Friend Pass, allowing a friend to join the adventure without needing to purchase a second copy. Additionally, cross-play support ensures that players across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can play together seamlessly.
Beyond the main story, the game introduces subplots, short standalone adventures hidden within the levels that add new twists to the gameplay. These mini-stories further shake up the mechanics, offering players even more variety and surprises along the way.
With its creative cooperative gameplay, multi-genre action, and Hazelight’s signature storytelling, Split Fiction is shaping up to be a must-play for fans of immersive co-op experiences. Players can team up and embark on this adventure when the game launches on March 6.
