Saber Interactive is working on the development of World War Z, a video game based on the hit novel and film World War Z. While the video game will be published in 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, the studio wanted to work on another project: the multiplayer mode for Days Gone, Sony’s exclusive title that will be available on PS4 on April 26, 2019. However, the company rejected the proposal.
This is what Saber CEO Matthew Karch said during an interview with VentureBeat
Sony does not want multiplayer for Days Gone
” Days Gone is a one-player experience,” Karch began. “At some point, I went up to Sony and said, ‘I’ve seen what you’re doing with Days Gone, look at what we’re doing with World War Z. Maybe we can help you implement a multiplayer component.'” But, obviously, they were too concentrated and, understandably, on what they had to do. ”
As for World War Z, Matthew Karch indicated that the beta of the game will arrive in a short time. “We are going to try to get a beta version so that a small number of people can play and, thus, make sure that the network code is as solid as we expect.”
World War Z will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One but the release date has not yet been confirmed.
