Two people in charge of Marvel’s Avengers Shaun Escayg and Vince Napoli give more details on the incorporation of Spider-Man to the game: “It is like the icing on the cake. We have not had to change anything to fit it.”

Creative Director and Combat Designer for Marvel’s Avengers respectively, recently talked about the addition of Spider-Man to the cooperative Avengers game. This character will be exclusive to PS4 and PS5, something that has upset some Xbox fans so much that they have proposed a boycott of the game. The game developers have already come to the fore to clarify the exclusivity of Spider-Man, but today they have given more than the incorporation of the superhero to the character template.

In a recent interview, Shaun Escayg answered a question that haunts the heads of many fans: have you had limitations when it comes to representing Spider-Man due to exclusivity with Sony? The creative director assures that this Spider-Man is “his Spider-Man”, although he says that he cannot go into more details about what the character is like.

“Without throwing any spoilers, the window in which you will see our version of Spider-Man will fit our story – and I have to dance around this because I cannot talk about it – but you just have to know that this Spider-Man is our Spider. -Man, and that will be in our history, will fit in the world, “says Shaun Escayg in said interview. Recall that Marvel’s Avengers will reunite The Avengers sometime after an attack that forced them to keep a low profile, so Spider-Man will also have his moment to tell about his passage through that reality.

Spider-Man, the icing on the cake that is Marvel’s Avengers

Vince Napoli, for his part, wanted to reassure users of other platforms indicating that Spider-Man will not modify the story and that they can play the same game on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC if they perceive the lack of the superhero: ” There are no changes or anything like that, we had our plan, our heroes (…), the stories, the challenges and the gameplay progress as we had planned. All of that is still there and, then, on top of all that, there’s Spider-Man, “says Napoli.

What he means by this is that Spider-Man is not a fundamental part of the game’s story, nor has there been any change in Marvel’s Avengers to introduce the character: “We had to fit him into the big plan and everything we already had. It is like the icing on the cake, but it does not affect or change the story in any way. ”

Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Later also come to next-generation consoles, that is, to PS5 Series X and Xbox. Currently, those who pre-ordered the game on the Sony console can enjoy the beta on PS4, those who did not can read our impressions of that test while they wait for the beta to go public on various platforms.
