Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Review

The fun multiplayer battles between Plants vs. Zombies return with a successful sequel, filled with content and focuses on enhancing the gamer experience.

Game modes from the first installment are all available. On the other hand we have The Garden Operations , the horde mode in which we can play solo, split – screen from the same console, or a team of four online co-op. Eight maps to choose from four levels of difficulty, waves of increasingly numerous and powerful enemies, and ultimately a lot of fun for those who enjoy this type of game modes.

Multiplayer mode is the most popular part of the whole package, with battles of up to 24 players in twelve different maps and six modes of play with great customization options to create items to our liking. No major new modes, repeated almost all from the first installment, and the main novelty is Turf Takeover , which is actually a mixture of two modes that were previously introduced, such as cemeteries and herbal gardens assault. In this way we have to go conquering areas on a map constantly expanding, and although it is the most spectacular and vibrant, although some matches goes for long until either side wins.pvzgw2_beta_screen_4

Multiplayer game modes within Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 should be noted that very exclusive, as funny and chaotic , sometimes you have the feeling that the skill with the trigger is not really that important, learn the skills of each character, know how to use them at the time right, and know the maps well. There are so many different characters, with their own abilities and weapons, that the games are an explosive cocktail of chaos and destruction that what makes it unique. Highlighting the design of maps, which we liked , as they are varied, very colorful and have a lot details and nice touches.

This is certainly one of the strengths of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 , the humor that covers the entire game without offense for all audiences.  Visuals looks sharp thanks to a really good graphic section , back in 2014, we expected new consoles give more of themselves, but in the 2016 seems that both technical as in art has a very high level of detail and with a stable 60fps!, thanks to Frostbite 3 engine.

In addition it is a pleasure to watch a game overflowing with colorful cartoon aesthetic as achieved , we would love to see more titles like this, showing that video games are increasingly close to reaching the level of animated films. The sound is also up, with very nice effects and melodies that convey very well the feeling of chaos in the moments of most intense action.

Final Thoughts

pvzgw2_beta_screen_5Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is a sequel that has not risked too much, but wisely improve on areas which were the biggest shortcomings of the previous game, such as the absence of a campaign or story mode. More characters, new maps, endless fun and tons of unlockable ahead in a game in which one of its greatest values is to be unique within the genre , a quality that remains unchanged two years later. With a wide range of options at your disposal -Multiplayer competitive, cooperative for four, split screen or own- ways, this action game for all audiences again a complete success, and an option to take into account if you are tired of the same type multiplayer shooters over and over. Definetly a must buy!

Great

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
