Halo 5: Guardians Review

Microsoft's star franchise takes a leap to the next generation with an essential adventure for all Xbox One owners.

Especially during mission you might get frustrated due to the partners not reacting properly to finish the level, since you will need to cooperatively distract the enemy to discover their weakness, which is quite often the backside of them.

Against enemies like this, the allied AI win all our hatred on higher difficulties.

Halo 5 has greatly improved it’s gameplay experience, especially when you join the game with family and friends to strategically tackle a level, it is fun and very exciting. The downside of the game is that it has removed the local cooperative’s split screen, which us personally have enjoyed in the past series’.

You will be able to adapt and adjust to the allied AI, but our wish is that the Halo6 will have a fix for either more intelligent allies or simply let us play the game as a sole player. Regardless, we strongly believe that the game is very engaging and has a solid story line that will keep you entertained.

Multiplayer – The battlefield of the Spartans

All of the above being said, the true potential of the game is unleashed when you  start the multiplayer mode. This mode will get you hooked given the pace and the energy of the game. That being say, you will enjoy it as much as you did enjoy playing Halo 2, which is comparing to something epic and we don’t feel shy to compare it.

The sand burst mode is perfect for quick, agile and very intense games.

There are two districts, with two distinct variants: War Zone Arena. This arena enables you to fight 4v4 on small maps designed for action packed moments without a break. Here you can find the well known modes, such as Capture the Flag, SWAT or Murderer. Be careful to be on your toes since every split second could cost you.

The game is fun and very interactive. There is more needed than only teamwork since external elements will be of great help. The maps have a great variety and will give you joy.

War Zone made the most press since it is designed to join a 12 v 12 game, joining battles in the largest maps existing. It has a very unique feel to it and Halo fans will most likely fall in love with this game mode.

Good

  • Jaw-dropping visuals and locked at 60fps
  • New mechanics and controls feel simply great!
  • Multiplayer is very smooth and the Warzone mode with a group of friends is all we can expect and more from Halo 5

Bad

  • Very minor texture issues
  • Absence of the Big Team Battle mode from the beginning (which confirmed that it will be coming for free in the future with an update)

Amazing

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
