Alekhine’s Gun Review

Alekhine's Gun takes us to Cold War era with a good spy story, but there are issues such as; poor control and executing actions.

Artificial intelligence is absent, showing really ridiculous situations, where the guards and soldiers will stand in your way, without any action they will remain under your nose. It does not matter if you leave a trail of corpses or if you are not especially careful about hiding the bodies of the goals of our murders. Whether you hide it in front of them or if you close a door and go to another room they will forget about it, offering the most absolute and sense of pardons. Alekhine’s Gun is a game that promotes forgiveness and forgetfulness, always offering a second – or third, fourth or fifth- opportunity if you do it wrong.

In any case, if like to rush and like to take a Guns Blazing route to enter  areas filled with Nazi scientists or rooms with armed undercover communist laboratories, there will be tense situations, shooting, but it will be resolved in an equally narrow -minded and disastrously way. Generally, artificial intelligence -are usually marksmanship forgetful, but squeezed the trigger well with what control should facilitate our aim and shoot in these cases.

Alekhine’s Gun you can purchase weapons, items, and utensils with a virtual currency that can be earned by successfully finishing missions, despite offering a variety of equipment that can be configured to your pleasure. these purchases do not offer the user a good control, subjecting it to an overly schematic distribution of buttons vestige of a past that, for good, long since overcome. The awkwardness in the mapping game will take us to hide erratically, shooting without any certainty against enemies, forcing us to change weapons and objects during unexpected moments or trying to catch guards in the back without much luck, giving us a hardship even in the tensest situations.

Alekhine’s Gun is a very frustrating game, that will cause you more than a headache because of its poor execution and approach, on top of that an embarrassing number of graphical defects and technical problems.

Graphics and Sounds

Alekhine’s Gun is a game with some technical issues in its design of characters and scenarios, its lighting system presents some major issues, which hinders proper gameplay and make it something else rather than  a stealth game. Maximum Games seems to have artificially obscured their game, perhaps looking forward to hiding flaws in shadows, giving us empty and lifeless levels, too blackened.

The frames per second rate are unstable, at least in the version of PS4, along with other issues in closed environments. During the game walls may disappear and appear before your eyes, enemies get stuck in any of the corners that populate the virtual world of Alekhine’s Gun or the usual flashes of light and shadow. The sound, meanwhile, is OK with an acceptable soundtrack.

Conclusions

Alekhine’s Gun is a title that does almost nothing well. A clumsy Stealth adventure game in the third  person, with a prehistoric gameplay, broken controls, and mechanics, and moreover, presents one of the most absurd and flat artificial intelligence of recent times. Yes, it has  a great story and an idea, with a very interesting plot set in the Cold War, but given their dull narration, everything is watered down.

Maximum Games has tried to offer a degree of infiltration based on the scheme of the first Hitman, which at the time we met, it seems like trying to invent something that’s been around for a decade.  Alekhine’s Gun provides no added value or any playable or artistic element to rise above the tight competition found in the genre today, giving us in exchange game that challenges us with its poor technical section.

Alekhine’s Gun is a game out of time when compared to other titles in the genre. It seems that, among many identities, double agents, and parallel histories, offering something that once enjoyed, but today, seems like a game of the past.

Poor

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
