Fallout 4 Review

Welcome to the Commonwealth

The adventure is set in Boston, and to start the game you will need to create your character in an editor, which lets configure physical attributes and lets you choose a gender. You will be ripped away from you peaceful home due to a nuclear war, but we do not spoil the game and go into specifics. You will wake up in a world and your main goal will be to survive in a world full of devastation and an extremely hostile environment.

Historically we do like the series. The story line is very well told, but we are not convinced by the way the new system of dialogues are programme, which is a new way of chatting.  In the game you always have to choose between four answers. All this being said, we are grateful that we can now listen to your character, but you’re tied in the options dialog, and sometimes it is not even exactly clear what and how you should answer to make you feel like you master the situation.

Very often you will feel that there are many dated conversations going on that might  bore you in actually important moments. There are examples such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which has shown that an RPG in an open world can have not only an elaborate narrative, but also present a quite attractive way to show it, and we believe that this is one of Fallout 4’s weaknesses.

Fallout 4 does have some interesting content and a story line, but the dialogue system does malfunction in our opinion. The charismatic characters still exist.

Good

  • Huge Open World experience with full of surprises waiting to be revealed
  • Very well designed upgrade and crafting system
  • Attention to detail is impressing

Bad

  • Technically outdated graphic engine
  • There is nothing new or innovative just the same working formula
  • Long load times are frustrating

Great

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
