Mario Kart 8 Review

Nintendo playable again demonstrates its excellence with which probably is the best delivery of a legendary saga. A wildly fun game to be glued to the TV alone or in the company for tens of hours.

Finally we have to talk about Mario Kart TV , where our race last six repetitions are stored. When we finished a race if you’re playing alone we can quietly watch a replay, edit and upload it to Youtube , but of course this can not be done if you’re playing online, so we need to go to Mario Kart TV, where the latter are saved repetitions. The editing options are not complete but enough to record some feat. Choose up to four pilots who want the action scenes to be displayed are featuring objects, action, skids, without tricks or preferences, duration -30.45, 60 seconds or even the entire career-focus, and sound and can leave everything or just the effects or music. These repetitions are sometimes very spectacular, and where the game looks its peak.

Graphics and we have spoken at length since I tried it a year ago at E3, which already conquered us with his resounding visuals . Native 720p and 60fps completely stable for art section very carefully, some cool animations, a colorful infinity, a very resultones modeled some pretty curious and graphic effects, such as lighting or wet. If we are going to detail and we get picky, many textures are no wonder, most of the lighting is not real-time, and there are quite a sawtooth at the lack ofantialiasing , but really, all this does not matter before a game so pretty. We mentioned only because we believe has been exaggerated a bit with their look next-gen . We believe that Wii U can still give each other a little more, but do not ask him much more like a Mario Kart that looks great, better than ever thanks to HD graphics.

The sound is also up, with nice effects and voices of each character, and a very elegant, stylish, varied and orchestral soundtrack, as we come accustomed lately Nintendo, and that fits perfectly in real time to the circumstances of the races. Although it is a shame that in a game as “noisy” such good melodies spend a little unnoticed, and even let us change the volume of the effects and music. It is a game in which even the sound has its weight in the gameplay, as it serves to predict certain threats, and we understand that they have not wanted to give more volume to the excellent music.

Is the best Mario Kart?

Well possibly be the thousands of players around the world giving their all in a weeks dictate sentence, but after the huge amount of hours we played, we see him not one but as playable, which is impeccable, and inexhaustible source of amusement. It bothers us a little lack of ambition, failure to incorporate new game modes, and complexity is in options, statistics and other modes that they could have done much filled. If you really like the series, or this type of game, although it sounds a bit exaggerated, this game justifies a reason to purchase a Wii U. Again a well-made gameplay, fun and design by Nintendo, which again shows that Nintendo is virtually unbeatable in making good games that pleases many gamers for years to come.

Good

  • New levels are very smartly designed and super fun to play
  • Online is smooth and very well coded
  • Variety of new additional content to unlock

Bad

  • Wish there were more character choices
  • Some limitations such as no menu access at pause and missing content from previous installments such as blue shells

Great

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
