Skylanders: SuperChargers Review

Including cool cars with solid gameplay and extends the life of the title, but wallets will cry.

It was very difficult this year Skylanders superchargers to stay ahead of the game with figurines using NFC technology, with Nintendo and its expansive policy in action amiibo and Disney Infinity advancing by leaps and bounds while LEGO Dimensions gearing, but Activision has put all eggs in one basket to keep pace and has achieved with the added engines and wheels in to gameplay.

Each year they are trying to come up with new additions to keep the masses attracted … and this year’s novelty are the vehicles, which are used in many stages and with many possibilities. Stages are divided into land, air and water and each is associated with a Skylander, so that if you put the two together in the portal you get more strength and power.

If you combine the vehicle with the appropriate supercharger all vehicle characteristics are enhanced. To make things easier for the player, which combine often have similar color ranges and do not need or seek guidance.

The introduction of vehicles works very well in the game, the phases of driving have a prominent place and represent probably more than 35% of superchargers, cars (the cars we tested) mechanics are well desinged that matches the stages.

The results include vehicles that are very successful and balanced.Your Skylander level rises smoothly and the vehicle is becoming more powerful. You can customize almost everything, boosting the attack or the shields and changing various parts to modify the performance and make it faster, handier, stronger … It’s a good combination of action game with racing.

Besides the story mode, the vehicle is used for various career possibilities. Some are offline for one or up to four player split screen and online competitions with friends you invite or any player (though not voice chat when you do it with strangers). And there are different types, in a run and vehicle use weapons to kill the enemy and others which fights against the clock.

You can customize the vehicle to suit your way of playing. There are so many options in driving is almost a game within a game.

When looking online games sometimes it took us a while to find opponents, but once the lobby is full gameplay is fun, with a Mario Kart style, random items included. In fact, the driving part is best because it has taken pros of the best driving games: Wipeout , Mario Kart or Rocket League are just a few references. No doubt the introduction of vehicles has given the game a different touch and quality. If Skylanders  needed a makeover, without changing it’s origins and with a good dose of fun, this is it.

Amazing

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
