If you haven’t fully grasp the storyline in the past games, you will be happy to hear that in Bloodborne you will be having a much better idea of what is going on in the game and what you have to do to accomplish each part. Despite of being a short sequence, at the end the entire story will make even more sense due to certain clarifications.
Bloodborne is not Dark Souls
For those new to the game, your role is it to navigate through complex maps of interconnected areas, full of alternative and secret paths while facing extremely dangerous enemies that will make things more difficult.
Other than a couple minor changes, the controls are quite similar to those of Dark Souls and you will grasp the idea in no time.
There are certain strategies that you can implement to regenerate health and be cautious of throwing out punches that aren’t thought well through since this will lead to certain death.
Enemies are much more aggressive and active compared to previous game, thus, a mixture of a defensive and offensive strategy will lead to success. You will need to dodge blows when necessary and counter using the right timing.
The combination of the speed of the game and the absence of magic definitely changed the dynamics of the game, while remaining the tactical component.of the “saga”. If you are one of those who solely relied on the magician in the earlier works of the series, prepare to have much more melee fights in Bloodborne.
The secondary weapons feature will mostly end up by using firearms. However, there are different choices such as shields if you find them more useful. Shields are more used to counter and stun the enemy, which can be used to damage the enemy as well. It will come in handy in case you need a second to breath and have the enemy back off for a second.
If you can properly implement this strategy it is an extremely affective way to beat enemies or bosses, but you will have to master it first.
