The Division Review

Ubisoft offers gamers an action adventure RPG takes place in an open developing world. The Divison is one of the most exciting and attractive game we have played so far in this generation.

If you like third – person shooter games such as Gears of War or Uncharted series, you will fell in love with The Division. It is controlled well, and shootings mechanics are always fun , enemies are aggressive and forces you to move around the stage, the special abilities of the characters are quite spectacular and always helpful, and weapons are varied and distinct, recoil or dispersion is very noticeable, and as you get weapons with better statistics, you will notice the changes.

If only you played the beta or have seen videos of the beginning of the game, it may not seem very fun fighting against thugs with wielding sticks and small pistols. But this is only the beginning of the adventure, as there are several factions of enemies in the city, and gradually we will face tougher,  and better armored and coordinated rivals, things will get complicated progressively till you reach the final missions, where things will go crazy.

We have an open world that invites to be explored, that also fulfills its role as a scenario that offers a fantastic atmosphere, a place full of interesting content. There are tasks and side quests of all kinds, lots of collectibles and events that can arise spontaneously. During the beta within few hours, it got boring and repetitive and did not contribute much.

Luckily this time, it does not bother us too much as the main story missions are great, very well designed. The new type of enemies in each mission, and visiting many different settings, from wide open spaces with different heights to the tightest claustrophobic places, players can experience very intense and spectacular shootings, which will leave you and your teammates many memorable moments.

The set design is very good, with many strategic options especially when you play as a team, and the artificial intelligence of enemies, is capable of the worst and the best, with coherent behavior, hiding or fleeing when they are at a disadvantage and low life, or attacking you and your mates using all kinds of tricks to get you out of cover, yet sometimes they suddenly act weird like, climbing on top of an object without coming to consider becoming a nice target.

But these faults are compensated for their aggressiveness and variety, and quantity, since depending on the number of players in the game, enemies appear more or less, and with a squad of four players. things will be really chaotic and expect funny situations, with lots of enemies, explosions.

Good

  • Great setting where it takes you to a post-pandemic world
  • Whether you play story or Dark Zone, co-op is easy to access
  • Minimum to none loading times!
  • Perfectly crafted progression system
  • Each time you enter the Dark Zone, you will experience unforgettable moments.

Bad

  • Some minor lag due to always online nature, but overall it's pretty stable
9.5

Amazing

As far as I can remember, I've been surrounded by technology. My father bought us a Commodore 64 so I started playing games as a baby, following my passion with Amiga 500, then PC and so on. I love game related collectibles, and when I'm not collecting I review games, watch movies and TV Shows or you may catch me keeping a low profile at Game Events.
